Maine Seabird Biology and Conservation
September 12 to September 17 — Take an active part in helping to restore Maine seabirds by joining pioneering researcher, Dr. Stephen Kress, and other Project Puffin biologists with National Audubon Society's internationally renowned Seabird Restoration Program. Work alongside Audubon biologists while enjoying the rare opportunity to land on seabird islands that are otherwise off-limits to all but researchers. Participate in discussions on seabird identification, bird banding, adaptations, migration, ecology and conservation led by Audubon staff. In this session, noted author and biologist Scott Weidensaul joins Dr. Kress to conduct a census of Leach’s Storm-Petrels and hands-on habitat management to help restore endangered and rare Roseate, Common and Arctic Terns on Eastern Egg Rock.

This program is presented in association with Exploritas (formerly Elderhostel, Inc.) and is open to adults of all ages.
